Xoova Helps You Find Local Doctors and Medical Services
Xoova (pronounced ZU-vah) is an online medical services marketplace. Patients use Xoova for free to find local doctors, to learn what to expect in advance of a care encounter, and to schedule appointments. Doctors use Xoova for free to manage their presence on the Internet, to share their philosophy of care, and to offer patients the convenience of online scheduling. Xoova is headquartered in Santa Monica, California, with offices in New York and Philadelphia. Xoova completed financing with Spark Capital in September 2006.
Xoova is an affiliate of the Medical Group Management Association and is endorsed by a number of medical societies, including the New York County Medical Society, the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians, and the Illinois Society of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. Xoova.com was also selected as an official 2007 Webby Award Honoree voted "Outstanding New Product in Health and Medical Services."
Xoova was founded in 2006 (as DoctorsDirect.com) by Tommy McGloin, who led MapQuest and Moviefone during his ten years at AOL. He holds an MBA degree from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University. Tommy is regularly asked to speak and present on the topics of Health 2.0 and innovations in healthcare.
