The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration released a study recently, tracking America's most depressing jobs. These depressing jobs tend to be in the food-service and care-giving industries. Apparently, helping people is a bummer.
The least depressing job is architect. Architects have never helped anyone. Sources close to architects state that they probably never will.
Working with the severely disabled and the elderly seemed to be the second most depressing occupation, falling closely behind being severely disabled and/or the elderly.
Other jobs deemed depressing by the study were social workers, cooks, bartenders, waiters, sad clown portraitists and waitresses.
What can be done about depression?
"Nothing," said the League of Depressed Scientists. "It's all hopeless."
Depression is serious problem, and it affects the lives of millions. Some of the symptoms are lack of interest, fatigue, weight changes, difficulty concentrating, sleep disorders, and thoughts of death.
A psychiatrist is the doctor that can help with depression. Although, because a psychiatrist helps people, the psychiatrist may be depressed. The psychiatrist should go see an architect.
